He's baaaaack!
"Mission Accomplished. Dick Black is history."
Or so we believed back in 2006. According to the blog Too Conservative, and picked up by Blue Virginia, Mr. Black has been discussing his intention to challenge incumbant Mark Herring for the 33rd Senate seat, the very seat that his 'mini-me' Mick Staton failed to win.
Below this paragraph, this site is preserved as it was in January 2006, as an archive of what Dick Black meant to Loudoun County and to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Only the name has changed. Enjoy.
Mission Accomplished.
Dick Black is history.
Our objective from the beginning was to get Black Out, and that was indeed the outcome. We were also united in our view that how that outcome was achieved was not important, although some on the Blackout2005 team would have been much happier had the local Republican party fielded a viable primary candidate to retire Mr. Black.
Now we find ourselves facing much the same situation as we speed toward a special election for the 33rd Senate seat.
Mick Staton has left little doubt that he intends to take the place of Dick Black in the General Assembly, ideologically if not literally. Our initial prediction was that Black himself would make a run for the seat, which is why we are still here. After some observation, it is our conclusion that a Senator Staton would be as or more destructive to the residents of the 33rd as would be a Senator Black.
The Republican party had the chance to find an alternative to the train wreck that was Delegate Dick Black, and blew it. Will history repeat itself? This special election boils down to one simple question:
Do voters want a candidate supported by Senator Mims, or a candidate supported by Eugene Delgaudio?
However this plays out, Blackout2005 will oppose the election of "Dick Junior" with the same enthusiasm we had for Part I. Stay tuned, and visit our blog for more.

Still Extreme.
Still Ineffective.
No longer our problem
